the thing stopping Cole in hes life are his actions whether its trashing a store or smashing someones face in its all stopping him from moving forwards in fact hes taking steps back in his life.
Cole just keeps digging himself deeper and deeper as he goes on he beats Peter, goes to juvey, escapes from there onto an island tries to kill a bear but instead he almost gets killed because instead of the bear being afraid he's afraid and that changes a lot about Cole because then that's when he starts to realize what is happening and he can go back t where he was at the beginning of the story.
I agree all Cole needs to do is realize he cant control everyone and everything whether that's a person talking with him or a bear almost killing him he just needs to realize that he can turn his life around
I think the hardest thing that will hold him back is starting to trust people more throughout his life. He will have a lot of healing to do with the people he hurt. Even though he didn't have a lot of help from his mom when he was little, he need to forgive and start to trust.
i think his biggest challenge is his anger because his has problems with it and i would say he would have to go threw help to fix it and if he sees the bear he's anger is gonna start building up
I think that trying to manage his anger is going to be Cole's biggest challenge outside his physical condition because it has always been his biggest problem in life and he has shown that it can really hurt someone, as shown by the beating that he gave to Peter Driscal which caused him to go to the hospital.
His biggest challenge in life would be being positive and stop being negative. He has so much anger in him that everything he talks about is negative. When the narrator says, "Cole felt a familiar rage building inside him" (Mikaelsen 22). He always has that sudden rage inside him that he just cannot control.
His parents don't really care about Cole. And what also is stopping him in his life is him trashing a store he can get in trouble for doing that. And hurting someone physically is not that good. Cole also needs to care about things in life or he wont lead or go to anywhere in life.
Cole's biggest challenge moving forward with his life is not having anyone that cares about him besides Edwin and Garvey. Cole's parents don't care about Cole. His dad beats him and his mom only cares about herself. For example Cole says,"All you care about is you! Cole interrupted...Look how your dressed"(Mikaelsen 47).
His biggest obstacle in his life is his rage. Garvey states," Cole has will and courage, but he also has ugly anger. So what do we do with him? Do any of us know what caused that anger?"(Mikaelsen 49)
I think Cole's biggest challenge In life is controlling his anger issues because if he continues to have fights cause of his anger he isn't going anywhere in his life but go to jail and also his biggest challenge would also be that his parents don't care about him at all and that can really effect his life.
