I believe Cole's life is like a building with all the pieces it stands tall if Cole has caring parents and he is a good person he can stand tall.
But if u are missing even a support it can all come crashing down like Cole hes not a good person and he has no one who cares about him now i believe he hasn't come crashing down yet but he is very close
Cole's anger he lets it get way ahead of him for the little things people say like when Garvey calls him champ.
I don't understand is it he thinks people don't care about him but he just doesn't notice there are people who really do care about him
I would say Peter and The Cake because Cole smashed Peter and Cole also smashed The Cake. His anger made him smash The Cake and Peter telling on him made Cole upset.
Another thing that could symbolize Cole is a raging fire because the fire tries to destroy everything just like Cole who destroys his shelter on the island and tries to kill the Spirit Bear and nearly kills Peter.
I think the bear could symbolize Cole because the bear attacked Cole like how Cole attacked Peter. Also the bear at the end trusted Cole like how Cole is now trusting the people in his life.
Another thing Cole can be related to is the bear. The anger and rage of the bear is the same of how Cole thinks. The narrator says," The bear dropped him to the ground and pawed at his chest as if raking leaves" (Mikaelsen 66). That is the bear's anger on Cole. And then when Cole cornered Peter all his anger was built up that he had to beat him up.
Coles life could be symbolized by a slowly dying fire.
I can symbolize Cole's life but more of just Cole in general. I think Cole/ his life is like a baby bird abandoned in its nest left to die. Not know how to live or what to do. His mother and father both left the nest and flew away. Now the baby bird doesn't know what is good or bad. He falls out of the nest exposed to bad things that can turn him in the wrong directions.
