Cole's biggest challenge is gonna be recovering all of his injuries after the bear attack. I say this because he is basically paralyzed, he is only able to move his left arm and his head.
I think the biggest challenge for Cole would be learning how to take credit for his own actions and learn from his wrongdoing.
Coles greatest challenge in his life is if he wants to live. He is so used to being in control, and the only control he has now is his determination to live.
Cole's biggest challenge is going to be to heal the scars in his mind. He needs to forget about the past and try to fix the scars he has put on others mentally and physically.
I agree, Cole has many scares for what he has done, what others have done to him, and what the bear has done. He isn't in a good mental state of being and really needs some help.
Cole's biggest challenge with moving on in life, in my opinion, would for him to accept what happened. What happened was Cole's fault, but all his life he has blamed everyone else for his wrong doing.
I agree with Conley because Cole has taken his own problems, and created problems for others. It may be hard for everyone else to forgive him.
Cole went through many traumatizing events in his life so far. His parents are drunks, his dad beats him, his parents arent looking out for him or raising him. Cole has been alone in life for a long time. I think Cole will have trouble trusting people and becoming a good person. He doesnt know how to help himself. So therefore he cannot easily switc his life around.
Cole's biggest problem with moving on with his life would be his anger. He doesn't listen to anyone and makes bad choices all the time.
Cole's biggest challenge in life would be forgiving those who have hurt him ,and letting go of the past.
I agree with emma because, he needs to let go of the past and concentrate on moving forward.
Cole comes back the Garvey and Edwin saying he was attacked by The Spirit Bear. No one believes him however. Cole then throws away the only evidence he has. The white fur. He decides he will tell the truth and do it him self. Cole says, "I don't nee to prove anything. I'm telling the truth" (Mikaelsen 111). Now that he threw the proof away, he has to tell the truth and hope people understand.
Cole's biggest challenge is to get others to forgive his wrong actions. The author states,"His life had become filled with lies, and the more he lied the more he always tried to prove he was right"(mikaelsen 111). All of Cole's actions have greatly impacted others lives for the worse. It may be difficult for the people around him to forgive him.
I feel like the biggest challenge for Cole is how he will move forward in life after the attack and how will he will go on with life thinking that he was attacked by a bear.
Cole needs to start taking responsibilities for his actions. I'm only saying this because he has always had his parents bail him out for the bad things he has done.
Cole's biggest challenge was not being so angry all the time. In the text it says "But anger took energy, and Cole had no energy". [Mikaelsen 81] Cole gets so angry all the time that when he is injured he can't even do his normal thing get angry.
Cole's biggest challenge is his mental condition because he can get so angry in himself and others. The book says, "Cole let his frustration show. No. You didn't even know me when you first started helping me in Minneapolis" (Mikaelsen 107).
I believe that Cole's biggest struggle in the future will be the memories of the things he did to others, and what others did to him. When he was rescued by Garvey and Edwin, they would not believe some of the things he said to them. The book says,"There are no Spirit Bears around here except maybe in your mind" (Mikaelsen 111).
Cole's biggest challenge in with moving forward with his life is that when he gets home his dad is probably going to get drunk and beat Cole. When Cole did not do anything to offend him or do anything else to make his dad do what he does to him. He is gonna have trouble to get past his dad.
Cole's biggest challenges is to overcome his anger and for people to trust his words. Cole's challenges prevent people to see his true self and that he can learn to not be a bad as peope think he is.
Cole's biggest challenge is getting over his anger, and taking responsibility for his own actions. Right now it was Peter's fault he was in trouble. He needs to start forgiving people and getting over everything to become a good person. He also needs to stop treating everything the way he was treated. The author says," The sight of the birds irritated Cole. Without his injuries, he could have crawled up and knocked the nest down. That's what the stupid birds deserved" (Mikaelsen 75). In this excerpt he is treating the birds how he was treated. Although later the Cole said something like "Are you alright" which was the first sign of affection toward others in the whole book so far.
The biggest challenge for him would be knowing that when he comes home to his parents are still being alcoholics and not giving him a substantial amount of love and affection. He still will have to go to jail, since they won't send him back to Alaska after what happened. But he sooner faces this challenge. When Garvey is telling him to realize what will happen when he goes home, but Cole says ,''I do, but it's okay. Whatever happens now, I'm done being mad''(Mikaelsen 110).
