hes more like a pine tree because when you touch him it hurts touching him only reminds him of when his dad hits him.

I like how you used that it hurts touching him, but you should add a quote to you sentence to cite where you got this from.

Redwoods also use the roots of others to stay up, Cole dose the opposite he hates the help of others. And don' comment on peoples grammar Mr. reckling is not payed for that.

I think that Cole is more like a Redwood, because he thinks and knows he can stand tall act like a bigger bully than the other kids.

I feel like Cole is like the redwood tree because in the article the Winkel says,"Winkel added that redwood roots not only spread a great distance , They also intertwine with those of other trees,"(Chandler 2).Like Cole would always get into some type of argument with one of his friends or guardian and would always lead in a fight, like the tree intertwining with other trees.

I agree with you but, Why do you think Cole is like a redwood tree and not like a pine tree?

Cole is more like a pine tree Because he acted sharp on the outside like a pine tree, but the author said, " the trees have miniscule diameter of these pine roots was startling" (Chandler 5).So Cole is sharp on the outside but he is small in the inside.

Cole is more like a redwood, because redwoods don't get knock over easy by strong storms. Instead they remain upright and strong. This relates to Cole because he doesn't get pushed around easy.

I believe Cole is more like redwood tree. The associate professor of English says, "The trail guide had explained how it is that pacific storms do not knock over redwood trees" (Chandler 2). Which means redwoods are strong just like Cole.

A redwood tree, in the article the author states, "... Pacific storms do not knock over redwood trees. To live and remain upright, redwoods work together" (Chandler). Cole survived because he stopped fighting against the spirit bear.

I believe Cole Matthews is more of a Pine tree. The tree looks big and strong but small compared to other trees such as the Redwood. Cole Matthews may seems strong, but he isn't around other people. In the article "No Redwood Is an Island" Kate Chandler says,"The tree had been young but tall" (Chandler 4). We know that Cole is young but tall.

Cole is more of a pine tree because he has a vicious personality. Cole also has anger that towers on him. In the article the author states, " i regularly tramp through woods searching for the young shade-loving oaks and hollies that have been sprouting beneath the towering pines"(Chandler).

I think Cole is more like a Redwood tree because the article states "They grow up to heights of 300 feet and can weigh more than one million puonds" (Chandler). Everybody thinks Cole is the big guy out of everybody and is tougher than everybody.

I believe Cole is more like a pine tree. In the article the author says, " It appeared as if one more vigorous spring rain, and the trees would topple." This helps me make a connection because Cole's life is like a big pine tree. If one more bad thing happens Cole life could go down hill. ( we ran out of time I didn't know what else to add).
